Air conditioners can fail at any time without warning. Florida's high temperatures during the summer months has central air conditioning systems running 24/7. This is why preventative maintenance is very important to be performed during the spring before the summer begins and late fall after the system has had a good summer's work. Similar to a car after a long trip you may want to consider changing the oil, air conditioners are not much different after undergoing a long Florida summer its why we recommend a preventative Maintenance to keep the air conditioning system from an expensive breakdown. At a minimum we recommend at the very least once a year preferred before the spring.

Common Air Conditioner Problems
❏ Some of your rooms are too hot or cold.
Duct problems, inadequate air sealing or insulation could be the cause. No matter how efficient your
heating and cooling system is, if your home is not properly sealed and insulated against air leakage, you
will not be as comfortable and your system will have to work harder.
❏ Your cooling system is noisy.
Your duct system could be improperly sized or there may be a problem with the indoor air handler system, first measure check you filter, other issues could relate to the internal mechanism such as blower motor, dirty coils etc. have a technician inspect the system and help you identify the noise.
❏ Outside fan not working.
If the fan on the outside unit doesn’t run, proper heat transfer is not taking place and the air conditioning compressor may overheat and trip the safety overload. System should be shut down immediately and have a technician perform a diagnostic.
❏ Refrigerant Leak.
A Leak in the system is not to be taken lightly, when the system is low in refrigerant several thing could potentially happen to the system such as icing up coils, linesets and sometimes its so severe that even the compressor is iced up. Icing could burn out blower motor, compressor, damge control boards, and as ice expands it could crack the pan in the air handler causing water damage.
❏ Changing the Filter.
Change Filters on a timely manner, waiting until it's clogged dirty makes the system starve for air, this makes the blower motor work harder to pull air through therefore eventualy burning out and raising your monthly electric bill.
❏ High Electric bills.
When all mechanical parts are in good working order and ducts are properly sized, the key to saving energy and maximize the full potential of your air conditioning system is to keep a Good air flow, this means clean air filter, evaporator coil and blower wheel, Keeping these items clean is perhaps the key to a good system operation, better indoor air quality and energy efficiency. A good practice is to change your air conditioner filter everytime you receive your electric bill, a clean filter will prevent breakdown and improve efficiency. keeping evaporator coils clean is not as easy with standard 1" filters its why we recommend a 5" media filter installed and better yet to improve indoor air quality and efficiency Ultraviolet light.
